The Tyne Tees Television Studios are near to the River Tyne on City Road. This is very close to the City Centre. The station is now owned by Granada Television but programmes are still made here including the nightly news programme. The original building has been added to as can be seen below.
The main entrance is now attached to the modern part of the building with the main studios behind. Tyne Tees TV began in 1959.
